From Vision to Reality: Using Vision Boards and Journaling to Manifest Your Goals
Happy 2025. Can you believe we are in a new year that quick. 2024 sees like it flew by. Were you able to accomplish all of your goals? Truthfully, I wasn't. My health and personal life both got out control towards the end of the year and slowed Me down some, but, I'm ready for 2025. I have My action plan, My vision board and My planner and journal so I can track My progress. Are you ready to see all your dreams come to life this year? Have you set a plan in place?
Manifesting your dreams and turning them into reality requires more than just wishful thinking; it takes clarity, intention, and action. One powerful tool for aligning your goals with your vision is creating a vision board. When combined with daily or weekly journaling, this practice becomes an unstoppable force for personal growth and achievement. I created My main vision board for 2025 right before the new year and spent NYE journaling and setting goals for the first few months of the year.
You too, can harness the power of vision boards and journaling to manifest your goals and bring your vision to life. In fact, I'll tell you how.
Why a Vision Board? Let's Look at How Visual Representation Clarifies Goals
Vision boards are visual representations of your goals, dreams, and aspirations, a tangible reminder of what you want to manifest in your life. Seeing your goals clearly and often, constantly reminds you what you’re working towards. The images and words you choose for your vision board help clarify your values and intentions and solidify your commitment to making them a reality.
Visual representation of your goals works on a subconscious level, allowing you to focus your thoughts and energy on what you want. Vision boards, like your daily planner are effective tools to keep your dreams at the forefront of your mind, guiding your actions and decisions. When you see your goals every day, it strengthens your focus, reduces distractions, and boosts your motivation to take actionable steps.
Creating a vision board is a fun and creative process. Follow these steps to build one that inspires and motivates you:
Start By Setting Clear Intentions – Before creating your vision board, take some time to reflect on your goals. What do you want to manifest? What areas of your life do you want to focus on? Write down your intentions and clarify your vision.
Materials You will need:
A large poster board or canvas.
Magazines, printed images, or photos (for a physical board).
Scissors, glue, or tape.
Markers, pens, and stickers for personal touches.
Alternatively, use a digital tool like Canva or Pinterest to create a digital vision board (especially useful if you prefer to keep it on your phone or computer).
Select Your Images and Words – Choose pictures, words, and quotes that resonate with your goals. Don’t just pick random items—make sure each one connects with your aspirations. You want to feel inspired and motivated when you look at your board.
Assemble Your Board – Arrange the images and words in a way that feels aligned with your vision. You can organize it by theme or just let it flow naturally. Once everything is arranged, glue everything down or save your digital board.
Display Your Vision Board – Put your vision board somewhere you’ll see it daily. The more you look at it, the more your goals become ingrained in your subconscious.
Combine Your Vision Board with Journaling to Reflect on Your Goals and Progress
Combining your vision board with a journaling practice enhances the manifestation process. Journaling allows you to reflect on your goals, track progress, and adjust your actions when needed. It helps you stay connected with your vision and provides clarity when you feel stuck. I know journaling regularly doesn't come easy to everyone. You may find yourself struggling when first starting to journal about tracking your goals, no worries, I have created a weekly list of questions to ponder weekly as you track your progress, missteps and accomplishments.
Journaling Prompts for Goal Tracking:
What goals am I currently working on?
What actions can I take today to move closer to my vision?
What challenges have I faced this week, and how can I overcome them?
How am I feeling about my progress so far? What am I proud of?
What do I need to let go of to move forward with my goals?
Journaling and tracking your goals regularly helps you stay accountable, build momentum, and reflect on both the struggles and successes along your journey.
Place Your Board Somewhere You’ll See It Daily
It's important to place your vision board somewhere visible where you’ll spend time every day, make sure it's easily accessible. I keep one on My bedroom wall and one on the wall of My office. You want to be reminded of your goals, especially on days when motivation feels low. Consistency is key—seeing your board daily keeps you grounded in your vision.
Celebrate Small Wins: Acknowledge Progress to Maintain Motivation
Manifesting your goals is a process, and it’s important to celebrate the small wins along the way. Recognizing even the smallest achievements builds momentum while increasing your motivation. Journaling can be a helpful tool for this. Write down your victories, no matter how big or small, and express gratitude for the progress you've made. This will help you stay positive and motivated, even when you encounter setbacks. Yes, setbacks, I wont sit here and pretend that everything will go as planned at all times, that's why tracking our actions, progress and missteps is important.
Combining vision boards and journaling creates a powerful duo that helps you manifest the life you desire and deserve. Start today, and watch how these tools transform your dreams into reality.
