Can You Believe I Won?! I'm the 2019 Literary Trailblazer of the Year.
In the middle of the tour, I briefly stopped to attend the Indie Author Legacy Awards. These awards are not JUST for authors, but geared specifically towards authors whose work is making waves and allowing for change in the audience they serve.
I was truly shocked this fall when I found out that I had been nominated as the Literary Trailblazer of the Year. I didn't think winning was a possibility because though I help so many using writing as therapy, I never think people are paying Me real attention. I do it for the cause, not the accolades.
I bought the most beautiful gown and Rene, My bestie joined Me. We had a great night full of suspense. because My category was the last to be called.When they called My name it took a moment for My mind to register but My body was up out the chair before I could even comprehend what was happening. With no thought of winning, I had show up speechless, but somehow, I found words to convey My gratitude (see video below)
